We came home as Champions in two divisions. And with lots of wins, big plays, teamwork, and effort from all the other teams!
Monday night we will have kids v parents kickball at 6:15!!
We will all have pizza, cookie cake, and drinks!

LAST WEEK OF PRACTICES and BOTB IS ALMOST HERE!
A few announcements:
BATTLE OF THE BAY
TOURNEY ENGINE - Please download the app TOURNEY ENGINE. It will be used all day Saturday for game times, locations, and matchups. The director of BOTB, Maddie Soviero, is still updating the brackets. The times are listed, but are subject to change up until Friday.
HYDRATE/PREPARE - We can't stress this enough, it will be warm. Not much shade at Manatee Fields - G.T Bray Park. They are beautiful and well-maintained, but bring a tent or umbrella if you would like. Please pack sunscreen, water bottles, ice, extra snacks, or whatever your family will need. They also have several vendors for lacrosse gear, merch, food, drinks, tournament tees, etc.
SPORTSMANSHIP - There will be no tolerance for coaches, players, referees, or parents screaming at each other. This is a memorial event and a recreation tournament.
ROSTER VERIFICATION - Please let your coaches know ASAP if you will not be able to attend BOTB. This is important to your teams and will help everyone prepare for success. All directors have now verified their rosters and age brackets to be eligible by USA Lacrosse Age eligibility. National Sports ID will be a requirement moving forward.
NEXT MONDAY - Next Monday, we will have a Parents vs. Kids kickball game celebration for all to attend!! Please come have one more day of fun with your teammates before the end of the Spring Season :) Additional info on drinks/snacks that day are coming.

I hope you all are enjoying a nice spring break (if this is your spring break week)! We are getting started on some initial planning for the 2023 Battle of the Bay!!
To get started:
- Please see the sheet HERE.
- Please write in the teams that you'd like to bring next to your program name, in the division applicable. If your team goes by a certain team name like "STS Red" please put that team name in so we can keep naming consistent for your program's parents.
- I am not sure if we will have all of the divisions listed, this is just a general gathering of information to see how we can shake it all out / make the best experience possible for everyone coming.
Please get your teams inputted by EOD Tuesday March 21st. At that time, I will begin plugging teams into Tourney Machine. Please be nice to me and don't drop teams after you put them in - I think I rearranged the schedule 10 times last year and the refs wanted to kill me.
Price Per Team:
We are still finalizing a budget/ associated costs to the event, but will be close to last year's pricing at $175/ team.
General Information / Policies / Standards:
- We will be age verifying all teams- all teams must have 100% eligible players by USA Lacrosse age eligibility standards.
- To do this, we will be using National Sports ID: more information here about that. I will have this set up in the next week or so, so you can standby and then I will share instructions for having players sign up for verification.
- The emphasis this year is on Sportsmanship. There is no tolerance for coaches, players, referees, or parents screaming at each other. We expect all Program Directors to share these expectations of the Tournament with their coaches, parents, and players. If someone can't cool off and be a good example for the children around them - we will ask them to leave the site. This is a memorial event, a RECREATION youth tournament: not a national championship. Have fun, relax, and show the participants who are new to our lacrosse community how respectful and professional our sport is.
- I will be setting divisions / pools based on skill (to the best possible experience). There's no room for a program not to play someone. All teams are age eligible, there are no travel or FTLL teams in the tournament... so that should clear up any special circumstances for match ups.
- I attached the Rules from last year and map from last year. We will proceed with the same set of rules and map. And yes, I will ensure tourney machine is set to the same rules we have in our PDF's attached. If I'm missing anything- let me know.

2023 SPLC LACROSSE SCHEDULE -
Practices start Monday, January 9th! All parents please meet at the bleachers in the middle of Azalea Park for a brief Kick Off Season Meeting at 6pm.
ORDER UNIFORMS NOW!! All athletes must have a SPLC uniform. Link on Registration. Don't delay!!
Practices are currently slated for Monday and Wednesday 6:00pm - 7:30pm (unless coaching staff decides accordingly)
